Back To The Front: The Last 2019 C7 Corvette ZR1 Was Just Sold For $396,000
The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is set to be a milestone model with a 1,064 hp turbocharged V8 that makes it the most powerful American production car ever offered by a major automaker, but its predecessor still has a lot of appeal.
The 2019 Corvette ZR1 was a single-year model that was last to feature a front-engine design. Its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 sending a then-impressive 755 hp to the rear wheels.
It was offered in convertible and couple versions and the final example of the latter just crossed the block at the Mecum Auctions event in Dallas.
The perfectly preserved car has just 16 miles on the odometer, a seven-speed manual transmission and features Arctic White paint over an Adrenaline Red and black interior.

It’s a well-optioned car with the 3ZR premium equipment group, red Brembo brake calipers, a carbon fiber and leather steering wheel, carbon fiber hood insert, carbon fiber ground effects, a carbon fiber roof panel and other premium features.

It was sold at Mecum for $396,000 including the auction fees, which is nearly twice the $222,000 valuation Hagerty puts on a concours quality car. Its significance as the final one surely being the difference. When new, 2019 ZR1 pricing ranged from around $120,000 to $150,000, depending on the options.

It’s unlikely the new owner will drive let alone modify it, but if they wanted to, there is a way to make it a closer competitor to the new ZR1. Hennessey Performance recently announced a revival of its HPE1000 upgrade which boosts the power of a C7 Z06 or ZR1 to 1,000 hp for $44,950.

Pricing for the new ZR1 has yet to be announced, but don’t expect it to be cheap or easy to get. A C8 Z06 can be optioned up to more than $160,000 from the factory and someone bought one at the Mecum Harrisburg event this summer for $200,750.
As for the last C7 period, that was also a Z06 and was auctioned by General Motors in 2019 to raise money for the Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and was bought by InLighten CEO Dan Snyder for $2.7 million.
