The World’s Most Beautiful Truck Is A 1956 Ford F-100

The O’Reilly Auto Parts Grand National Truck Show took place in Pomona, Calif., Sept. 14-15 and for the second straight year a Ford won the top prize in the custom truck competition.

The black 1956 Ford F-100 was built by Classic Car Studio in St. Louis over the past several years and is owned by Ed Ganzinotti.

The two-door features a dropped stance and a body finished by Relic Restomods and a bed trimmed in wood.

The interior was redone in vintage style, but is equipped with Dakota Digital gauges, a Morel sound system and a bench seat upholstered in Garrett Leather.

Power is sent to a quick-change Winters rear end from a 540 cubic-inch John Kaase Boss Nine V8 that’s based on Ford’s 1969-1970 NASCAR engine an has a set of Borla stacks that help it crank out 800 hp.

The World’s Most Beautiful Truck award was inaugurated in 2023 as an extension of the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award that’s given out at the Grand National Roadster show, which has the same organizers.

The first truck to win it was a pre-war 1940 Ford pickup built by South City Rod & Custom in Hayward, Calif.

2023 World's Most Beautiful Truck

The F-100 also won the Steve Stillwell award, which is named after the late truck builder known for this style of custom, while a 1985 Datsun 720 King Cab with a dancing bed won the Tom McWeeney Memorial Pinstriping Award.

The Grand National Truck Show will be back next September, but before then the 75th Anniversary Grand National Roadster Show will take place in Pomona from Jan. 31 through Feb. 2.

This year’s America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award went to a 1932 Ford Phaeton two-door tub built by Roy Brizio Street Rods in South San Francisco, Calif. The truck finished in classic hot rod styling with black paint and flames.
