The Nissan Frontier Tarmac Truck Will Tear Up Pavement
It’s a new frontier for the Frontier.
Nissan has turned its Mississippi-made midsize pickup into a high performance street truck for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Nissan dipped deep into the Nismo parts catalog to build the high power low rider.
The Tarmac has a supercharged version of the Frontier’s V6 with a Nismo cold air intake and exhaust that sends 400 hp to the rear wheels, which are 12 inches wide and wrapped in Yokohama Advan V107 tires.

The fenders have been flared with new carbon fiber panels to fit them and the truck rides on a prototype Nismo 4/6-inch suspension lowering kit with remote reservoir adjustable coilover shocks.
Custom 15-inch brakes have been added and the rear ones can be activated by a Chris Forsberg CF/64 Drift Stick handbrake.

Along with the widebody fenders, the exterior features a hood, roof cap, mirror caps, bedsides, spoiler, tonneau cover, front splitter and rear diffuser all constructed with carbon fiber.
The factory buckets are swapped for Recaro Sportster CS seats that can handle a good drift and the cabin is dressed up with a carbon fiber and Alcantara steering wheel and custom trim throughout.

Nissan has no plans to put something like the Tarmac into production, it’s just meant to show off the Nismo gear and the updated Frontier, which has been restyled for 2025.
It also built the complete opposite of the Tarmac in the form of the Project Trailgater, which is a collaboration with the PowerNation TV “Music City Trucks” show.
The Frontier PRO-4X features a lifted Nismo high performance off-road suspension kit, a bed rack with cargo cases, 17-inch beadlock wheels and everything including a kitchen sink.
