The Jeep Wrangler is something of a living fossil among SUVs so its latest accessory is very fitting.
Jeep is offering a limited run of Jurassic Park-themed decals to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the model’s appearance in the 1993 blockbuster.
Several YJ-generation Saharas served as transportation at the park and were featured in several key scenes, including the initial reveal of the dinosaurs to the academics who were invited to come vaildate the park before it opened to the public.
One was also involved in iconic T. rex chase where Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcom character uttered the iconic line “must go faster” and a reflection of the dinosaur was seen in the Jeep’s side view mirror with “Objects In Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear” comically displayed over it.
The decal kit isn’t an exact replica of the one from the film, but was inspired by the style.
It’s priced at $550 and works on any JL Wrangler, Wrangler 4xe or Gladiator and includes door, hood and fender vent decals, plus a graphic for the swing gate door handles on the Wranglers and a shifter insert embossed with a T. rex.
It can be matched to the trim name (Rubicon, Sahara, etc.) and a transfer case shifter insert with a Grassy Island pattern is also available for an extra $100.
Each kit is numbered 00-99 and that’s how many are up for grabs on JeepGraphicStudio.com, making it nearly as rare as a living dinosaur would be today.
