The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe Is A Bigger Box
The Hyundai Santa Fe has joined the boxy SUV brigade.
The all-new midsize three-row SUV features an entirely new look and the largest cabin the model has ever offered.
The Alabama-built 2024 Santa Fe features a rectilinear body that’s in the same vein as the Land Rover Defender and upcoming 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser and accentuated by bulging fenders and the brand’s modern lighting design.
It provides more passenger room than the current Santa Fe and a larger tailgate opening aimed at making the cargo area a more useable space.
U.S. models will be available with either a 277 hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a 226 hp hybrid powertrain based around a 1.6-liter four-cylinder. A plug-in hybrid model will not be in the U.S. lineup when it goes on sale in early 2024.

Hyundai hasn’t clarified drivetrain options, but on the 2023 Santa Fe the four-cylinder is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission and either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, while the hybrid gets a six-speed transmission and all-wheel-drive.
The new interior features the same dual digital instrument cluster and widescreen infotainment system touchscreen display layout seen on many of Hyundai’s models. One unique addition is a UV-C Sterilization Tray box above the glove compartment that can be used to sanitize smartphones and other slim items.
Optional second row captain’s chairs will allow the occupants to adjust the angle of the seat bottoms, as many front seats do, and the front seats will be equipped with leg rests in some markets.

Hyundai’s full package of electronic driver aids will be offered, including lane-centering assist and navigation-based cruise control that can automatically adjust the speed for curves and limit changes.
Pricing hasn’t been announced, but Hyundai is already teasing a potential rugged model that leverages the new platform with the XRT concept. It includes off-road tires, improved ground clearance, redesigned bumpers, a roof rack with auxiliary lights, wheel arch action camera mounts and other adventure-friendly accessories.
