Tesla Slashes $10,000 Off Model S And Model X Starting Prices With New Standard Range Trims
How far do you really need to go, anyway?
Tesla has introduced new Standard Range versions of the Model S and Model X that drop the base price of the models by $10,000.
The move comes as the automaker trimmed the prices of the Model 3 and Model Y in China by around $2,000 amid growing competition in the electric vehicle space.
The new Model S Standard Range is listed at $78,490 before delivery fees and the Model X Standard Range at $88,490. Both are equipped with all-wheel-drive systems.
Tesla hasn’t detailed the changes behind the price reduction, including battery capacity and power output.

The Model X Standard Range now has the lowest range of any Tesla model at 269 miles per charge, compared to 348 miles for the $99,490 Model X. Its 0-60 time is 4.4 seconds, down from 3.8 seconds.
