The diesel-powered Jeep Gladiator is ready to ride into the sunset … and then some.

The 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon FarOut is a limited edition model that will be the last version of the midsize pickup to be offered with the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 option.

It’s similar to the Wrangler Rubicon FarOut that launched earlier this year as the diesel’s SUV swan song. Both designs were based on a concept truck that debuted at the 2020 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.

The name is inspired by the longer driving range provided by the diesel compared to gasoline models. Gladiator Rubicons with the EcoDiesel have an EPA combined fuel economy rating of 24 mpg, while trucks with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 get 19 mpg.

Along with the 260 hp, 442 lb-ft diesel engine, the Gladiator Rubicon FarOut gets plenty of decals and blacked-out trim, plus low-gloss black 17-inch wheels with 33-inch mud-terrain tires, a steel front bumper, body color render flares, spray-in bedliner, black upholstery with red stitching and rubber floor mats.

The FarOut won’t just be the last diesel Jeep, but also the last diesel from a U.S. Stellantis brand that’s not a heavy duty truck, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel having been discontinued in January of this year.
