Tesla is trolling Toyota.

A Tesla Cybertruck prototype was spotted this week cruising the streets of the San Francisco Bay Area city of San Carlos wearing an unusual disguise.

The wrap had an image of a green Toyota Tundra pickup on it, making the polygonal Tesla look like a Tundra rendered in a 1990s video game.

Several videos were posted to the Cybertruck Owners Club online forum and social media.

It’s not the first full-size truck contender at which Tesla has taken a swipe. In July, another Cybertruck was caught on film wearing a Ford F-150 wrap.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that the Cybertruck will only be delivered from the factory in its bare stainless steel and that customers will have to wrap it for other colors or patterns, but he didn’t confirm the option would be available from Tesla itself.

Interestingly, Ford this week unveiled a limited edition 2024 F-150 Lightning Platinum Black model that features a matte black wrap.

Truckloads of the Tesla-made Cybertrucks have been seen in various places in recent weeks, including the Bay Area, but no one is exactly sure why.

It’s likely that a delivery event for the first trucks is imminent, but Tesla hasn’t announced a date and time as of yet.
