NASCAR Playoffs: Tyler Reddick Wins Kansas With Thrilling Last Lap Pass

(NASCAR)

It’s three out of four for 23XI at Kansas Speedway.

Tyler Reddick won the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday in an overtime finish to claim a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs round of 12.

It will be Reddick’s first trip to the second round, where he will join last week’s Darlington winner Kyle Larson.

23XI swept the Kansas races last season with Kurt Busch and Bubba Wallace, while 23XI team co-owner Denny Hamlin won this year’s spring race for Joe Gibbs Racing and finished second to his driver today.

Reddick took the lead from Joey Logano and Eric Jones with one lap to go with a dive to the inside as they crossed the start/finish line and then never looked back.

He celebrated the by hanging out of the window of his car as he did a burnout against the outside wall on the home stretch.

Hamlin is now the points leader for playoff drivers without a win as the series heads to Bristol for the last race of the round of 16.

Hamlin and Reddick”s teammates didn’t fare as well at Kansas.

Regular season champion and playoffs favorite Martin Truex Jr. blew a tire and wrecked out of the race on lap four, while Bubba Wallace did the same on lap 108 an ended up finishing 32nd. The results put them both below the cut line for the next round ahead of Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Michael McDowell.
