The 2024 Jeep Gladiator Updated For Midsize Pickup Battle

(Jeep)

The Jeep Gladiator is something of a centaur.

It’s a Wrangler in front, pickup in the rear.

It’s no surprise, then, that the midsize truck has been updated with many of the same styling and features that the 2024 Wrangler received.

They include a slimmer grille with thin slats to improve cooling, side curtain airbags, an antenna embedded in the windshield and electric seats with waterproof controls. The dashboard has also been redesigned with a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The only engine on offer will be the 285 hp 3.6-liter V6, as the diesel option has been dropped. It is combined with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission and one of several 4×4 systems, depending on the trim.

Adaptive cruise control and a collision warning system also come on all but the entry-level Gladiator Sport.

The Sport S, Willys, Mojave and Rubicon models all continue, with the new Mojave X and Rubicon X adding a host of premium equipment including the power seats, leather upholstery, upgraded audio, blind spot monitoring and steel bumpers.

The Willys can be equipped with one of several AEV upfit packages. (Jeep)

As with the Wrangler, several upfit packages are available from off-road specialist AEV, with the Level II kit including 37-inch tires and a 2.5-inch suspension lift that give the Gladiator 16 inches of ground clearance and the ability to ford through 36 inches of water.

Pricing will be announced ahead of the first deliveries this fall.
