Shane van Gisbergen will be on track with Trackhouse Racing in 2024.

The New Zealander has inked a developmental deal with the team to compete in a variety of races across all three of NASCAR’s national series next year.

Van Gisbergen made an epic NASCAR debut by winning a rainy Chicago Street Race in dominant fashion is first time out.

He returned a week later to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course where he scored a 10th place finish two days after grabbing 19th place in his debut Truck Series race at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Van Gisbergen is a three time winner of Australia’s Supercar Championship.

“This announcement means so many things to me,” van Gisbergen said in a press release.

“I’m proud of what I have achieved here in Australia, but I’m excited by this new chapter in my career and the opportunities it brings.”

Van Gisbergen will also compete in some late model racing events, Trackhouse Racing said.

“This is going to be a tremendous challenge for Shane but he is a tremendous driver as we have all seen,” said Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks.

“Next year will be about getting him acclimated to oval track racing, superspeedways, 1.5-mile tracks and everything he has never experienced in his career. It’s obviously going to be a learning process, but we think Shane will perform quite well.”

NASCAR IS MAKING A BIG CHANGE TO THE PLAYOFFS

Van Gisbergen currently sits second in the Supercars Championship standings for Red Bull Ampol Racing with four races left on the season.
