The best NASCAR Truck Series team in history has a new owner.

Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) on Wednesday announced that Spire Motorsports had purchased the team.

Busch founded KBM in 2010 and it went on to become the most successful outfit in the series, claiming a record 100 wins and a single-season record 14 wins in 2014. He personally drove KBM trucks to victory lane 47 times as a part-time driver, with Erik Jones and Christopher Bell winning the 2015 and 2017 championships for the team.

Harrison Burton, William Byron, Todd Gilliland, Daniel Suarez and Bubba Wallace are also among the KBM alumni who made it to the Cup Series.

“I owe a lot of gratitude to so many people, starting with Samantha and my family for believing in this dream that I had,” Busch said in a press release.

“It took countless hours by so many amazing people to make KBM the winningest team in Truck Series history. I will always appreciate everyone that walked through the doors and gave their all to make this such a successful organization.”

Busch said the decision to sell after 14 seasons was due to the combination of the demands of joining a new Cup Series team this year, Richard Childress Racing, and his eight-year-old son Brexton’s increasingly busy racing schedule.

The sale also included the team’s facility and Rowdy Manufacturing operation and comes less than two weeks after Spire Motorsports paid a reported $40 million for a third Cup Series charter from Live Fast Motorsports.
