Dodge Leading 2023 U.S. Sports Car Sales … But It’s Close!
The Dodge Challenger is out ahead of the American competition as it drives off into the sunset.
The performance car is set to be discontinued at the end of the 2023, with its V8 versions replaced with an all-electric model previewed by Charger Daytona SRT Concept.
Dodge delivered 11,075 Challengers in the third quarter, bringing its full-year total to 35,350.
That puts it in a good position to take the title for the third year in a row, but the Ford Mustang is putting up a very good fight.
Ford sent 9,844 ‘Stangs to customers from July through September, including several of the redesigned 2024 models, and it is just behind the Challenger for the year at 35,315.
The Chevrolet Camaro, which is also being discontinued, sits third among the pony cars at 24,688 deliveries, but not third among American sports cars overall.
That place is held by the Corvette, with 25,438 deliveries.
And while its a four-door sedan, the very muscular Dodge Charger leads all of these models 63,647 deliveries as it too enters its final months on the market.
