Dodge Has No Comment On Leaked Electric Charger Daytona SRT Photos
The muscle car world has been shocked by the first photos of the production version of the electric Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept that were were posted to the internet on Monday.
Well, photos of part of the car.
The images that were published on the Challenger Talk forum (registration required) show what appear to be several “body in white” Charger Daytona SRT bodies in an undisclosed factory location.
HEY, TESLA, YOU KNOW DODGE SELLS WRAPS TOO, RIGHT?
Dodge “politely” declined to comment to American Cars And Racing about the photos and would not confirm if the bodies were authentic.
The shape of the body doesn’t stray far from the Charger Daytona SRT Concept’s, but gives a good look at its internal structure.
One feature that popped out to observers is what appears to be provisions for a transmission that would be used with an internal combustion engine car. This isn’t a surprise. Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis has previously said that the platform being used is a “multi-energy” design that could accommodate an ICE powertrain.

Dodge’s V8 models are being discontinued this year and will be replaced by the electric versions of the Charger Daytona SRT, but no official announcements have been made regarding other gasoline-fueled or hybrid propulsion systems.
However, Dodge recently demonstrated one of the current Challenger Drag Pak track cars with a Mopar “Hurricrate” turbocharged inline-six-cylinder crate motor installed, leading to speculation that the engine could be destined for a production muscle car.
DODGE LEADING 2023 U.S. SPORTS CAR SALES RACE … BUT IT’S CLOSE!
Dodge hasn’t said when the final version of the Charger Daytona SRT will be revealed, but its parent company Stellantis said this week it would not be taking part in next year’s CES event due to the ongoing UAW strike. The venue was where it unveiled the Ram 1500 Revolution Concept electric pickup last year. There does appear to be an electric Dodge muscle car on the way, however, but it’s a DIY project.
The Mopar parts division has teased something called the Jolt with an image of a classic Dodge muscle car that has what looks like an electric motor under its hood.
