DIY Nissan Frontier Pro-4X Pickup To Race NORRA 500 In Baja

Off-road racer Chris Forsberg is entering the NORRA 500 with a Nissan pickup you can make a copy of.

The Frontier PRO-4X has been modified with equipment that is available from Nissan’s NISMO parts catalog.

The list includes a off road lift kik, high-performance suspension kit, off road lights and rock sliders.

It’s Axis Truck Beadlock 17-inch wheels with Yokohama GEOLANDAR M/T G003 tires will be available to customers at a later date, while the NISMO/Forsberg Racing graphics package is custom for the race.

The Mississippi-made Frontier PRO-4x pickup starts at $40,795 and comes with a 310 hp V6 and 9-speed automatic transmission.

Even before the NISMO upgrades, it has off-road Bilstein shocks, all-terrain tires, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates and 9.8 inches of ground clearance.

Regardless of where it finishes, the truck will be on display fresh from the race at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas October 31 to November 3.

Nissan added another trim to the lineup for 2024 that’s built for lighter off-roading with a retro touch.

The Frontier Hardbody Edition gets a front skid plate, throwback triangular 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, a sport bar and decals inspired by the 1980s Hardbody.

It’s a $3,890 option on top of the $38,205 SV trim.
