‘Saving Private Ryan’ Willys Jeep Coming Up For Auction On Veterans Day

A classic 1944 Willys Jeep that was used in “Saving Private Ryan” and several shows will soon be coming up for auction.

The restored vehicle is authentic military surplus that’s currently owned by TLO Film Services in England, which is a company that provides vehicles to film and TV productions.

According to Iconic Auctioneers, the Willys-Overland MB was first registered in the U.K. in 1977 and has been owned by the company since 1996, a year before “Saving Private Ryan” was shot.

It was since hired for the making of “Band of Brothers” and “Pennyworth,” both of which feature historic settings.

The left hand drive Jeep is listed with a reconditioned original engine and 25,975 miles on its odometer.

The auction house estimates that it will sell in the £18,000 to £22,000 range when the hammer comes down at the NEC Classic Motor Show Sale in Birmingham on November 11, which is fittingly Armistice Day in the U.K and Veterans Day in the U.S.

Hagerty values the model from $12,300 for a fair example to $38,600 for one in concours condition.
