Dark Energy-Powered Ford F-150 Lightning Is A Monster Truck
Someone built a Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup that’s sure to shock everyone on the block.
In a good way.
Ford product design director Ryan McManus leveraged his black F-150 Lightning’s unique features to turn it into a monster truck called the “Frightening Lightning” for Halloween.
The F-150 Lightning has the Pro Power Onboard system and several outlets that allow it to provide electricity to accessories for days on end without the need to keep an engine running.
McManus used it for a set of inflatable tentacles bursting out of the truck’s windows and creepy purple underglow lighting.

He also installed a sharp teeth made of foam on the truck’s gaping Mega Power Frunk, which houses an LED TV projecting spooky effects and dares Trick or Treaters to reach in to grab candy during the local Trunk, uh… Frunk or Treat festivities.

McManus took things to the next level by filing a (faux) patent on a “Method and System for Harvesting of Dark Energy Transfer for Electric Vehicles,” which uses wireless charging technology using an “interdimensional energy receptor” of his design.
While that’s not expected to be offered on the production F-150 Lightning anytime soon, Ford is working on a second-generation electric truck for 2025 that Ford CEO Jim Farley called a “mind-blowing” product with “unexpected innovation for truck customers, far beyond the normal truck attributes,” so you never know what’s the future holds in store.
In the meantime, Ford is adding a new F-150 Lighting Flash trim to the lineup next year that bundles many of its most popular features, including a battery pack good for up to 320 miles of driving per charge, priced at $69,995 before the $7,500 federal tax credit is applied.
