Nissan’s Rugged Rogue Is Ready For The Rough Stuff
The Nissan Rogue is going rogue.
Nissan’s NISMO performance division has built a custom version of the compact crossover SUV to show off some potential upgrades at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
The Tennessee-built Rogue has been given a massive 3-inch suspension lift and a set of 18-inch wheels wrapped Yokohama GEOLANDER mud-terrain tires stuffed under custom fender flares.
Rock rails and, a front trapezoidal bumper guard designed around the Rogue’s lower grille and a rear bumper guard add protection while an array of auxiliary lights and carbon trim toughen up the look.

Nissan said it was designed for “self-reliant, off-road travel and camping” that is further enhanced with a spare tire carrier, a roof rack that can carry kayaks and bikes, a pull-out canopy, neoprene seat covers and a NISMO pet divider for furry friends who love the great outdoors.
Nissan doesn’t currently offer a true off-road SUV in its lineup, but the larger Pathfinder is available in a Rock Creek trim that adds a bit of capability and most automakers have started adding increasingly rugged models to their crossover SUV lineups, so some elements shown on the SEMA Rogue could potentially find their way into showrooms or the NISMO parts catalog.
Nissan dug deep into the latter for one of its other SEMA projects, which is a Frontier pickup that’s been modified with production parts from the NISMO bin an entered in the NORRA 500 in Baja with a stock drivetrain by racer Chris Forsberg.
The plan is for Forsberg’s team to finish the race in San Filipe, Mexico, then drive it straight to the Nissan booth at SEMA without passing through a car wash on the way.
