The Chevrolet Trax Bandit Outlaw Is A Bizarre Tribute To A Hollywood Classic
Did the Bandit go on a budget?
A customized Chevrolet Trax inspired by one of the most famous cars in Hollywood history is being auctioned on Friday, Nov. 9 … and the original sure wasn’t a Trax.
The Trax Bandit Outlaw has been painted and updated to resemble the Pontiac Turbo Trans Am that was the star car in the 1980 film, “Smokey and the Bandit 2.”
The subcompact SUV features the Trans Am’s iconic black and gold design, complete with a “screaming chicken” logo on the hood.

It also has a power bulge with “Turbo” written on the sides, which remains accurate as the Trax comes with a 137 hp turbocharged three-cylinder engine, rather than the Pontiac’s 210 hp 301 cubic-inch V8.
Its wheels have also been painted to match the body and headrests upholstered with Bandit logos.
The car comes with a certificate of authenticity as the first of its kind, which is also noted on the bodywork.
The vehicle will cross the Mecum Auctions Las Vegas event with 146 miles on the odometer and no reserve.
