The freshly redesigned 2024 Ford Mustang GT is just starting to get to customers, but the special editions are already rolling out.
Ford has unveiled the Mustang GT California Special, which will make its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16.
Ford has been offering a California Special appearance package on an off since the first in 1968.
The new one is a $1,995 option on the Mustang GT Premium, so the starting price is $50,605 for a coupe, $56,105 for a convertible.

It includes a heavy helping of Rave Blue trim on the grille, 19-inch wheels and exterior decals, which overlay GT/CS onto a background of California Special written in smaller type.
Cars with the optional GT Performance Package get specific badging denoting that.
The interior features more blue trim, black and Navy Pier blue upholstery, plus Raptor Blue and Metal Gray contrast stitching. A California Special dash plaque replaces the Mustang plaque on the front passenger side.

The Mustang GT California Special comes standard with a 480 hp V8 and a six-speed manual transmission, but a 10-speed automatic is also available, as is a performance exhaust that bumps the power up to 486 hp.
