The Tesla Cybertruck Is Smaller Than A Ford F-150 Lighting, Leak Reveals
The Tesla Cybertruck looks bigger than it is.
The shocking electric pickup’s specifications have apparently been leaked and reveal that its smaller than many people might think.
The production Cybertruck is scheduled to be officially launched on November 30 at Tesla’s Austin, Tex., factory.
Elon Musk said on a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that it weighs “about” 7,000 pounds, but it turns out it’s lighter than that.

Now The Fast Lane EV claims to have received the information about the Cybertruck from an inside source and went through all of it in a video posted to YouTube.
The weights for the full-size pickup are listed as 6,670 pounds for the two-motor version and 6,890 pounds for the three-motor performance model.
The dual-motor Ford F-150 Lightning, which is set to be the Cybertruck’s top competitor, weighs from 6,361-6,893 pounds with the extended-range battery option that provides 300-320 miles of range, depending on the trim.
Perhaps more interesting is that at 223.2 inches long, the Cybertruck is 9.5 inches shorter than the F-150 Lighting and it is 0.1-inch narrower, not counting their mirrors. It also has a smaller footprint than the Chevrolet Silverado EV that recently began shipping to customers.

The length of the Cybertruck’s bed is listed at 72.8 inches long and 51 inches wide, makes it a half-foot longer than the F-150 Lightning’s and apprioximately the same width.
The Cybertruck’s maximum towing capacity of 11,000 pounds is well down from the 14,000 pounds that Tesla projected when it unveiled the concept truck in 2019. The F-150 Lightning tops out at 10,000 with a Max Tow package.

One feature the F-150 Lighting crushes the Cybertruck on is the size of its ‘frunk’ front trunk under the hood. The Ford’s is 14.1-cubic-feet while the Cybertruck’s snubnose can only hold 7.1-cubic-feet inside, although the Tesla’s 420-pound capacity beats the Ford’s 400-pound rating.
Still unknown is official pricing for the Cybertruck and what models will be available at launch, but Tesla has revealed something important about the buying process.

Customers will need to agree not to sell their Cybertrucks one year after purchase without permission from Tesla, which could be an effort to stop people from flipping them for astronomical prices while early on when supplies are low.
