Reverse: Tesla Deletes Cybertruck No-Flipping Rule From Ordering Agreement
Tesla has unleashed the Cybertruck.
The automaker last week had added a clause to its order agreement that restricted Cybertruck buyers from selling their trucks within the first year of ownership.
The stipulation required Cybertruck owners to get permission from Tesla to resell their trucks during the period.
Tesla claimed the right of first refusal to repurchase the trucks for the list price less 25 cents per mile driven and any required repairs.

The language also said that anyone who sold their truck without approval would have to pay $50,000 or the amount they sold it for, whichever figure was greater.

Now Tesla investor and superfan Sawyer Merritt has discovered that the clause has been removed from the agreement altogether … for now.
Tesla never explained why it added it in the first place, although automakers sometimes enforce similar requirements to prevent speculative flipping that drives up the price of new vehicles that are in low supply.

Elon Musk has said that Cybertruck production will ramp up slowly over the course of next year, following the first deliveries this November 30.
