They won’t see it coming.

Town & Country Ford of Bessemer, Ala., is offering a budget performance vehicle that could give Mustangs and other muscle cars a run for their money.

The dealership’s TC Customs outfit is customizing base 2024 Ford F-150 XL pickups with Roush superchargers that crank up their 5.0-liter V8 engines to 705 hp for an out the door starting price of $46,998.

That’s just $2,908 more than a 2024 480 hp Ford Mustang GT.

The supercharged engine also sends 625 lb-ft of torque to the electronic locking rear axle of the regular cab pickup, which comes standard with a three-across split bench seat.

TC Customs can also modify 4×4 models with the kit.

The truck’s styling isn’t altered, so if the buyer doesn’t request any changes, it looks just like any old F-150 work truck, making it what’s referred to as a “sleeper” that hides its true capabilities.

The upgrades are covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty and the rest of the truck’s coverage remains intact.

One caveat is that it is not legal in California.

Ford Performance also sells an FP700 supercharger kit for the F-150 that boosts the 5.0-liter V8 to 700 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque that’s 50-state legal and comes with a rear suspension lowering kit and some badging, but it costs $12,350 before installation.
