The Last Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Has Been Built, Leak Says

(Chevrolet)

The last Chevrolet Camaro Convertible is apparently ready to drop its top and ride off into the sunset.

The sixth generation Camaro is reaching the end of its production run and there is no immediate successor planned.

Chevy had originally said the abbreviated 2024 model would be built into January, but new reports suggest it will be wrapping things up at the Lansing Grand Rapids Assembly plant in Michigan that manufactures it sometime in December.

But it may already be done making convertibles.

THE 1,000 HP EXORCIST CHEVY CAMARO IS A DODGE DEMON-SLAYER

A photo posted to the Camaro6G fan website shows a Camaro body with signs attached to it that say “Last LGR Built Camaro Convertible. Nice job LGR body shop team!”

An image of the completed car as configured shows it to be a red SS model and the date of the post, 11/22, matches up with a previous Reddit post that said convertible production would end that day.

Chevrolet has not responded to requests for comment from American Cars And Racing about the convertible post or another one that said coupe production will end on December 7.

It’s not the only two-door American sports car that’s about to disappear.

Dodge will end production of the Challenger sometime in December, which will mark the end of the brand’s V8-powered models.

They will be replaced by an all-electric car based on the Charger Daytona SRT concept, but that vehicle has been engineered to accept an internal combustion engine drivetrain, so its possible that versions with inline-six-cylinder engines will be offered.

Regardless, the one thing we do know is that by February at the latest the Ford Mustang will be the last of the pony cars available with a V8.
