Ken Block’s Final ‘Electrikhana’ Film Released
The late motorsports star Ken Block’s last film has premiered on YouTube.
“Electrikhana TWO: One More Playground; Mexico City in the Audi S1 Hoonitron” was shot in the Mexican capital last November, less than two months before Block was killed in a snowmobile accident near his Utah home on January 2.
The video features the signature precision and stunt driving that made Block famous through his Gymkhana series, which was one of the first YouTube megahits.
The first Electrikhana debuted in October, 2022, with Block tearing it up on the streets of Las Vegas in his Audi S1 Hoonitron. The specially built car is equipped with a 1,400 hp all-wheel-drive electric powertrain.
The Hoonitron has since been updated with several features including simulated gear shifts and the ability to shift into reverse at any speed for added control.
It also has a setting where the front and rear wheels can be powered in opposite directions simultaneously for burnouts.
In classic Gymkhana/Electrikhana fashion, Block shows his stuff in a variety of landmark locations throughout the city, including the Plaza de Toros bullring and Museo Soumaya.
At one point, he plays with one of Mexico’s iconic VW Beetles, which is on brand as Audi is part of the Volkswagen Group.
The video ends with a tribute to Block, who is survived by a wife and three daughters.
One of his children, Lia, is well on her way to carrying on his racing legacy, which included entries in several professional rally racing series around the world.
Lia Block won an American Rally Association championship this year at age 16 and will be competing in the Formula Academy series next season under contract with Williams Racing.
She also shot a video with Audi in the Hoonitron alongside rally legend Michelle Mouton.
