The Last V8-Powered Chrysler 300C Has Been Built
It’s the beginning of the end.
The final 2023 Chrysler 300C rolled off of the assembly line at Stellantis’ Brampton Assembly Plant in Canada on Friday, December 8.
Chrysler resurrected the 6.4-liter Hemi V8-powered luxury performance model this year for a limited run of 2,200 cars.
It was the first 300 to feature the engine since the 2014 SRT8.

The reservations book was filled up within 12 hours of its reveal at the 2022 Detroit Auto Show, with 2,000 slated for the U.S. and 200 for Canada. It had a list price of $56,595 and was only offered in white, black or Velvet Red like the final car.
A Chrysler spokesman tells American Cars And Racing that the last 300C is heading to a customer and won’t be collecting dust in a museum.
The 300C name dates back to 1957 when it was first featured on coupe and convertible models that were also powered by a 6.4-liter V8.
A 300S V8 with a 5.7-liter engine remains in production, but not for long. Brampton will continue to build the 300, along with the Dodge Challenger and Charger, through the end of the month, but no later than December 31.
That will mark the end of V8 car production for Dodge and Chrysler, possibly forever. The Charger and Challenger’s V8 models are being replaced by a new electric car based on the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept late next year and Chrysler’s next new model will also be all-electric.
Chrysler will be selling only the Pacifica minivan in 2024 before an electric SUV arrives in 2025.
Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell recently said that the brand is working through ideas of what a future sedan could look like and hopes to have a concept to show sometime next year, but hasn’t offered a timeline for when one might be on sale.
