Acura ZDX Reservations Available For $1,000

Acura has opened the reservations book for the upcoming ZDX electric SUV.

The electric SUV uses the General Motors Ultium electric vehicle platform that underpins the Cadillac Lyirq and other GM models.

The ZDX is launching with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions across four trim levels.

The rear-wheel-drive models are rated at 340 hp and the all-wheel-drive models at 500 hp, both figures identical to the available Lyriqs.

Exact pricing hasn’t bee announced, but the rear-wheel-drive A-Spec with 325 miles of range and all-wheel-drive A-Spec with 315 miles of range will start “in the range of $60,000,” according to the reservations website.

A 288-mile Type S and 289-mile Type-S with a performance wheel and tire package are listed in the $70,000 range.

A refundable $1,000 deposit is required to secure a spot.

Full specifications and pricing information will be released closer to when deliveries begin next spring.

GM’s Super Cruise hands-free highway driving system will be among the available options.

Honda hasn’t yet confirmed where it will be built, but the Lyriq is built in Tennessee while the Chevy Blazer EV that uses the Ultium platform comes from a factory in Mexico.
