See It: Atlanta Motor Speedway Gatehouses Wrecked
Atlanta Motor Speedway is getting another makeover.
Two seasons after its 1.5-mile oval track was repaved and reconfigured, the facility is getting a new set of gatehouses.
The old, iconic structures have been demolished and will be replaced with entirely new constructions featuring modern styling.
The new Gates 12, 13 and 14 are designed to increase fan entry speed.

Atlanta Motor Speedway’s track was redesigned with higher banking to turn it into a superspeedway-style drafting track that debuted for the 2022 season.
Owner Speedway Motorsports used a new type of asphalt that aged-in more quickly to improve the racing.

It used a similar, improved material when it repaved North Wilkesboro Speedway last year.
Hutchinson said the new gatehouses will be ready in time for the Ambetter Health 400 on February 25. NASCAR shifted the first Atlanta race earlier in the schedule so it would follow the Daytona 500.

It thinks new fans that tune into the Daytona 500 might be more interested in seeing another superspeedway-style race if they decide to check NASCAR out again the following week.
Team Penske driver Joey Logano is the defending champ of the Ambetter Health 400, having won the race from pole position.
Aric Almirola started up front at the fall race, which was won by Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron.
