It’s out with the old and in with the … well, also-old at Stellantis.

The automaker discontinued the Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger and Chrysler Stellantis in December, which dated back to 2008, 2005 and 2004, respectively, but it’s still got a literal Classic in its lineup.

When the all-new Ram 1500 debuted in 2019 the brand kept selling the previous-generation 1500 as a budget option … and it hasn’t stopped since.

The Ram 1500 Classic first went on sale for the 2009 model year and currently lists for $32,345, while the new one starts at $38,555, not counting destination fees.

While Ram has already unveiled the updated 2025 Ram 1500 that goes on sale in the coming weeks, it had been coy about the future of the Classic. Not anymore.

Ram has confirmed to Motor 1 that the Ram 1500 Classic will be returning for the 2024 model year. Pricing and information on trims hasn’t yet been released, but should be up on the consumer website in soon.

The 2023 Ram 1500 Classic is offered in Tradesman and Warlock trims with a variety of cab and bed configurations. Ram’s 305 hp 3.6-liter V6 and 395 hp 5.7-liter V8 are the only engine options.

The latest generation Ram 1500 is getting rid of all of the V8 engine options and is replacing them with a turbocharged inline-six-cylinder that delivers up to 540 hp in top models.

Later in the year a Ram 1500 RHO model will be launched with the 540 hp and a high performance off-road suspension that will essentially fill the gap in the lineup left by the 700 hp Ram 1500 TRX.
