NASCAR is going Hollywoo… uh, we mean going Netflix.
The streaming platform has announced that a new series called “NASCAR: Full Speed” will be premiering on January 20.
The show follows the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs and championship race.
Ryan Blaney, William Byron, Ross Chastain, Denny Hamlin, Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Joey Logano, and Tyler Reddick are listed as the primarily featured drivers.
NASCAR CLASSICS STREAMING SERVICED LAUNCHED WITH MORE THAN 1000 RACES
The show is executive produced by the team behind the Chicago Bulls docuseries ‘The Last Dance 30 for 30’ on ESPN.
“When you’re at the racetrack, the overall sensory experience, the way it sounds, is intoxicating,” Marty Smith, ESPN reporter says in the voiceover for a teaser trailer released on Wednesday.
“If you’re a race car driver, you have the opportunity to get hurt or killed — but you do it anyway. Think about what a badass that is.”
NASCAR ENTERS THE MULTIVERSE WITH NEW MIXED-REALITY STREAM
The series follows the failed NASCAR-based sitcom “The Crew,” which ran for one season on Netflix in 2021.
Netflix is the home of “Formula 1: Drive to Survive,” which is widely credited as a major factor in F1’s unprecedented growth in the U.S. in recent years.
