Redesigned 2024 Tesla Model 3 ‘Highland’ On Sale, Performance Model Dropped
Tesla on Tuesday released an updated Model 3 for U.S. customers.
The refreshed compact sedan entered production at Tesla’s factory in China last year, but U.S. versions will be built in California.
The car features a mildly updated exterior, with new lights and bumpers, and a revamped cabin
An LED light bar wraps the top of the dash and the central touchscreen is slightly larger with a thinner bezel. A second screen has been added for rear seat passengers.
HOW FAR CAN THE TESLA CYBERTRUCK REALLY GO BETWEEN CHARGES?
A bigger change comes to the controls.. The Model 3 adopts the stalkless steering column used in the Model S, Model X and Cybertruck, which moves the turn signals to buttons on the steering wheel and the transmission selector to the touchscreen.

Two versions are currently available. There’s a Rear Wheel-Drive with 272 miles of range and a starting price of $38,990 (not counting delivery fees) and a Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive with 341 miles of range for $45,990. The Model 3 comes with 18-inch wheels but a 19-inch set is offered for $1,500 that drops the ranges to 248 miles and 305 miles, respectively.
Gray is the free color, while white, blue, black and red are available at prices from $1,000 to $2,000. A black interior is standard and white a $1,000 option.
Neither version is currently eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit on electric vehicle purchases due to sourcing requirements for battery pack components, but the credit can be applied to a lease for customers with incomes low enough to qualify.
The refresh is more than skin deep, however. The Highland gets a retuned suspension and other tweaks to improve its ride, handling and interior noise.
According to Tesla’s consumer website, new orders placed today may be delivered before the end of January.
