Daniel Suarez Enters NASCAR Mexico Series Race During Clash At The Coliseum Weekend
Daniel Suarez is going back to his roots.
The Trackhouse Racing driver has been invited to compete in the NASCAR Mexico Series race that will be held at the L.A. Coliseum before the Busch Light Clash Cup Series season kickoff event on Feb. 4.
NASCAR added the Mexico Series exhibition race to help promote one of the top international series it sanctions.
Suarez, who is from Monterrey, Mexico, drove in the Mexico Series across six seasons as he worked his way up the stock car racing ladder, picking up 10 wins along the way.

“I never thought I would have the opportunity to race in the Mexico Series again,” Suarez said in a press release.
The Mexico Series cars are technically different from any of the U.S. NASCAR cars, feature 400 hp V8s and run a 12-race schedule mostly on oval tracks.

“There are a ton of people who helped me in my career still involved in the series so it will be cool to go back and race with them. NASCAR’s Mexico Series is a great place to learn and over time I think will start producing drivers who will come to America. I cannot thank Quaker State and NASCAR enough for making this opportunity possible.”
The Mexico Series Race is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday and will be broadcast on FS1. It is scheduled for 150 laps of the temporary quarter-mile track or 60 minutes, whichever comes first.
Practice and heat qualifying races for the Clash are scheduled for Saturday, while the last chance qualifier and main race are set for 6:40 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET on Sunday.
