Jimmie Johnson Enters Daytona 500 With Legacy Motor Club Toyota

Jimmie Johnson will be going for his third Daytona 500 win this year, but with a very different car than the past two times he drove into victory lane.

Legacy Motor Club has announced that its co-owner will be entering the Daytona 500, Brickyard 400 and the Championship race at Phoenix, with sponsorship from Carvana.

The team is switching from Chevrolet to Toyota this year.

Johnson has exclusively drove for the bowtie brand during his NASCAR Cup Series career up until now.

“Carvana is a fun brand that captures the joy of cars and racing and they do a great job leveraging their partnership with LEGACY M.C. I’m excited to have a shot at another Daytona 500 trophy in our new Toyota Camry XSE’s and the paint scheme is sure to be a fan favorite.”

Toyota redesigned its Cup Series entry this year with new body to match the updated production Camry.

Johnson previously won the Daytona 500 in 2006 and 2013. He finished 31st last year after getting caught up in a multicar wreck during overtime.

Johnson also has four wins at the Brickyard 400, which is returning this year following three seasons where the Cup Series competed on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
