V8-Powered Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Being Discontinued This Year, Report Says
The end of the dirt road is near.
According to an insider report, the V8-powered Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 will be discontinued this year and sent off with a limited run of Final Edition trucks.
The Rubicon 392 was launched in 2021 as the first Wrangler with a V8. The 392 cubic-inch engine is rated at 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Prices start at $93,440, but it can be optioned up over $100,000 and is often listed with substantial markups.

A post to the JL Wrangler Forums page reveals that Jeep dealers have been informed that if they hit certain sales targets in January they will qualify for what’s sure to be a highly sought Final Edition trim allocation, according to Motor 1.

Its demise will come as little surprise. All of the Stellantis brands have been eliminating their V8-powered light vehicle models. The Dodge Challenger and Charger V8s went out of production last December and the Durango V8s are set to follow them into the history books this year.
Chrysler also discontinued the 300 and Ram is about to replace the V8s in its 1500 trucks with a turbocharged inline-six-cylinder that’s already in use in the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer.
Jeep hasn’t confirmed the Rubicon 392 report, but its departure would leave the Jeep Grand Cherokee as the only Stellantis vehicle — aside from Ram’s heavy duty trucks — that’s still available with a V8.

The Jeep Wrangler was updated for 2024 with new styling and features and is also offered with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 3.6-liter V8 and the 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain, which is rated at a maximum of 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
