Jeep has confirmed the discontinuation of the Wrangler Rubicon 392 with a social media post revealing the upcoming launch of a Final Edition version of the V8-powered SUV.
A photo included in the post shows the commemorative plaque that will be included, along with the message: “Built by grit and muscle. #392”
All of the American Stellantis brands have been eliminating V8 engines from their light duty vehicles.

The V8-powered Dodge Chargers and Challengers will be replaced by electric versions of the Charger Daytona.

The Chrysler 300 has no immediate successor and the Ram 1500 is swapping its V8s for a new turbocharged inline-six-cylinder that the Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are also switching to.

Earlier this month Dodge also announced a Last Call promotion for the V8-powered Durango SUVs, which will go out of production at the end of this year.
The four-door Wrangler Rubicon 392 was the final V8-powered model that hadn’t been cut. It was even included in the mid-cycle update the entire Wrangler lineup received this year.

The plaque doesn’t reveal any details specific to the Final Edition trim, but notes its use of the 6.4-liter V8 that’s rated at the 470 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque that’s standard in the Rubicon 392.
Jeep hasn’t suggested there are any plans to offer the inline-six-cylinder in the Wrangler, which would make the Wrangler 4xe the most powerful model.

The plug-in hybrid uses a turbocharged four-cylinder and electric motor combo that has a maximum output of 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Jeep this week did announce that the two-door Wrangler Rubicon and Willys is not available with an Xtreme 35 Tire Package that marks the first time a 35-inch tire has been offered from the factory on the two-door Wrangler.
