Ford Bronco ‘Fierce Horse’ SUV Revealed In China
A horse by any other name …
Production of the Ford Bronco has kicked off in China.
The SUV is being built by the Jiangling-Ford joint venture for local sale, not exports to the U.S.
Images of the vehicle first surfaced last September in a filing with the Ministry of Information and Technology.

Cool Cars In China editor Tycho de Feijter now reports that the vehicle officially launched on Monday with a Chinese model name that translates to Fierce Horse, although it wears Bronco branding.
It has a starting price equivalent to $42,000 and is being offered only as a four-door in the Outer Banks, Badlands and Everglades trims, all powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter.

The biggest design difference is that the fender flares on all trims are flat on the top, rather than rounded like most of the U.S. market versions.

It also has provisions to accommodate China’s wider license plates, a higher grade of leather upholstery and an upholstered dashboard like the U.S. Bronco Raptor.

Ford sold 105,665 Broncos in the U.S. in 2023 and built a total of 128,188 at its Michigan Assembly Plant for global deliveries.

Bronco exported from the U.S. to China had previously been sold by licensed importers at prices ranging from $96,000 to 165,000, according to Car News China.
