The Jeep Wagoneer S is ready for its close-up.
A few days after Jeep accidentally posted photos of its upcoming Wagoneer S to Facebook, then quickly deleted them, it has released the first official look at the production version of the electric SUV.
The midsize model will be built on the STLA Large platform, which will underpin several models including the Dodge Charger Daytona muscle car.
The platform is engineered to accommodate either electric or internal combustion engine power, but the Wagoneer S has only been confirmed as an EV.

It looks like a sleeker and sharper version of the Grand Cherokee and features a large wing at the trailing edge of its roof that gives it an upright look that hides a raked rear window.
The interior is also similar to Grand Cherokee’s and has four digital displays on the dashboard providing controls and infotainment.
Jeep previously said the Wagoneer S would come with a 600 hp all-wheel-drivetrain and be able to accelerate to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

More details are expected to be released closer to when it goes on sale later this year.
The Wagoneer S is expected to be followed by the Jeep Recon SUV, which is more along the lines of an electric Wrangler.
It’s set to be built on the same platform, but with more of an off-road focus and removable doors and roof panels.

Jeep has yet to accidentally post photos of the production Recon, but has shown it as a concept. Considering the Wagoneer S looks nearly identical to its concept, the Recon’s styling will likely also make it to showrooms largely intact.
