Space X Hummer EV A Tesla Cybertruck-Crusher?

The Hummer EV is ready for lift-off.

Custom vehicle builder Texas Truck King has released a sneak peek at a project it is working on for this year’s SEMA show.

The shop known for its outrageous lifted trucks is working on a Hummer EV pickup it calls Project Space X, with a space before the X.

According to a teaser post on Facebook, the high riding vehicle is being equipped with 28-inch portal axles and 57-inch airless tires from commercial vehicle specialist Evolution Rubber.

The tires are wrapped around 41-inch JTX Forged wheels and the Hummer EV’s four-ton body and battery pack combo supported by a custom trellis frame.

Exact specifications haven’t been released, but from the rendering it appears the vehicle could drive over a small sports car like a Mazda MX-5 Miata without touching it.

SEMA doesn’t kick off until November 5, so Texas Truck King has plenty of time to finish the build.

The GMC Hummer EV pickup is available with a tri-motor drivetrain that delivers 1,000 hp to all four wheels. The standard truck is equipped with an adjustable air suspension that’s no slouch and can lift it to provide 16 inches of ground clearance in its maximum Extract Mode setting.

The Tesla Cybertruck is actually a bit smaller and lighter than the standard Hummer EV pickup and can be raised to 17.4 inches of ground clearance.

But while Elon Musk has talked about adding a SpaceX package to the in-development Tesla Roadster sports car that would use cold gas thrusters to help accelerate it and even allow it to fly short distances, no such option has yet been proposed for the Cybertruck.
