2025 Ford Explorer Revealed With Updates And $41,220 Price
The Ford Explorer is getting updated styling and tech for 2025.
The three-row SUV features a redesigned front end with new headlights and a more rectangular grille, but the rest of its body remains largely unchanged.
Its interior revamp is more substantial, with a new dashboard that opens up space in the cabin and is trimmed in more soft-touch materials.
Four trim levels will be offered: Active, ST-Line, ST and Platinum. The off-road Timberline trim will not initially be in the lineup. The starting price for an Active $41,220, which is up from $38,445 from the current entry-level model.

Rear-wheel-drive with a 10-speed automatic and a 300 hp turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder is standard on all trims except for the sporty ST, which gets a 400 hp turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that’s also optional on the Platinum. All-wheel-drive is available across the lineup.

All Explorers come with a digital instrument cluster and 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system loaded with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa and Google Assistant on a platform called the Ford Digital Experience.
A library of apps are available and the screen can operate a web browser, or play videos or games when the vehicle is parked.

The Ford CoPilot Assist+ package of electronic driver aids that includes adaptive cruise control is standard, but the subscription-based BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system is offered on the ST-Line, ST and Platinum.
ST buyers also get a free day at the Ford Performance Racing School’s ST Driving Experience in either Park City, Utah or Asheville, N.C.
