The Chevrolet Camaro is out of production. And so is the Trans Am.

Not the Pontiac that was discontinued in 2002, but the recreation built by Trans Am Worldwide.

The Florida outfit has been transforming new Camaros into custom “what if” modern second generation Trans Ams for over a decade and has now completed the limited run of its latest version.

The company has the rights to use the Trans Am name, but the cars are not branded as Pontiacs.

The final version was inspired by the Trans Am Super Duty and based on the sixth generation Alpha platform Camaro.

The 50-car series had officially been completed, but owner Tod Warmack got a call from one of his best customers who asked if he could do just one more. Warmack agreed and decided to make it extra-special.

The car is equipped with Trans Am Worldwide’s take on Pontiac’s 400 High Output option, and is powered by a custom 6.6-liter LT1 V8.

WHAT WILL REPLACE THE CHEVROLET CAMARO IN NASCAR

Fitted with a stronger crank and rods plus a Magnussen supercharger, the single-cam 16 valve V8 spins the dyno with 800 hp at the wheels.

The car is finished in a classic black and gold color combination with red accents and has a carbon fiber hood with a pattern that shows through the screaming chicken painted on top of it. A T-top roof completes the throwback style.

Trans Am Worldwide hasn’t said exactly how much it cost, but many of its builds go for over $150,000. Warmack told American Cars And Racing the company is planning its next take on the Trans Am, but in the meantime is focused on its newest creation.

It’s an interpretation of the 1970 Chevelle SS built on the Camaro platform, which has been selling “exceptionally well,” since it was unveiled last year.
