See It: Mountain Biker Uses Tesla Cybertruck As A Ramp

(Christian Peper)

Well, now we know what the Tesla Cybertruck’s triangular shape is for.

Mountain bike stunt rider and coach Christian Peper has posted a YouTube Short to his popular channel of him using the Cybertruck as a ramp.

The Utah-based Peper said the owner of the $120,000 Cyberbeast Foundation Series model “made the unwise decision of letting me get near it on my bike.”

The Cybertruck’s stainless steel body is unusually strong, but the top surfaces of the truck are comprised of a composite cover for the bed and a shatterproof glass roof and windshield, with just the hood made of metal.

On his first try, Peper used a small ramp to jump onto the bed cover, then rode over the top and jumped off the windshield, which caused it to bend, but not break.

A few goes later and he took a chance launching off of the panoramic glass roof, which also held up to the force of the bike taking off, and cleared the entire front of the vehicle, landing on a hill it was parked near.

No damage to the vehicle can be seen in the short clip. That’s not to say the Cybertruck is indestructible.

Tesla custom parts company Unplugged Performance brought a modified Cybertruck to California’s Johnson Valley to see how hard it could push it and got the answer.

After two days of driving in the rocky, desert terrain, a tie rod bolt for the rear steering system busted.

The company was using the trip to develop a full line of products under the Invincible name. Apparently, there’s a little more work to be done.
