Frankie Muniz is stepping it up this year.

The actor-turned-stock car racing driver had a promising debut in the ARCA Menards Series last year, finishing fourth in the season standings.

He hasn’t announced his full plan for 2024, but confirmed in an Instagram post on Friday that he will be trying to qualify for the Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 at Daytona with Joey Gase Motorsports No. 35 Ford Mustang.

“I cannot be more excited, more thrilled for the opportunity to continue my journey,” he said in the video.

I can also announce that I will be doing a part-time schedule in the Xfinity Series as well as many other racing series throughout the year.”

One of the high profile drivers in this year’s ARCA 200 will also be facing Muniz in the United Rentals 300 if they both qualify.

Shane Van Gisbergen, who is running a part time schedule across several series this year, is required to race in the ARCA 200 before he’s allowed in the Xfinity race at Daytona, due to NASCAR’s rules for new drivers at the track.

Which apply even if you’ve already won a NASCAR Cup Series race like Gisbergen did at the Chicago Street Race last year.
