Let’s try this again.

Weeks after the most expensive Chevrolet Corvette ever sold at auction failed to set a new record, another example of the same model is coming up for auction.

The only Rally Red 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88 was sold for $3.85 million in 2014, but only received a high bid of $2.7 million at the Mecum Auctions Kissimmee, Fla., event in January.

Now the only Sunfire Yellow 1967 Corvette L88 is scheduled to cross the block at the Mecum Auctions event in Glendale, Ariz., on March 9.

The car still has its original 427/430 hp V8 and historic title. It’s won several awards over the years and is Triple Diamond certified.

The L88 was a racing package available for the Corvette from 1967 to 1969 that included upgraded performance equipment and the 427 cubic-inch engine, which was officially rated at 430 hp, but independent tests found it actually produced more than 500 hp. Only 20 cars were ordered with it in 1967.
