Joey Logano Wins Daytona 500 Pole Position
Team Penske’s Joey Logano will start from pole position at the Daytona 500 alongside fellow Ford Mustang Dark Horse driver Michael McDowell.
Logano won the first round of qualifying and put in a 49.465-second lap in the round of 10 to beat McDowell’s 49.536.
The two driver’s are locked in to the front row for Sunday’s race, while the rest of the field will be set during the Daytona Duels on Thursday night.
Ford and Chevrolet dominated Wednesday night, with the highest-finishing Toyota the No. 43 Legacy Motor Club car of Erik jones.

Both Ford and Toyota are racing updated cars this season.
Anthony Alfredo and David Ragan were the top open drivers, securing starting spots in the Daytona 500, while Kaz Grala, J.J. Yeley, B.J. McLeod and two-time Daytona 500 winner Jimmie Johnson will have to race their way in during the Duels.
