NASCAR has moved the start of the Daytona ARCA 200 from Saturday afternoon to Friday night due to expected bad weather heading toward Daytona International Speedway.

The 80-lap race is now scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET, or after the completion of Friday night’s Truck Series race.

The green flag for the 100-lap Truck Series race is scheduled to wave at 7:44 p.m.

Willie Mullins and Tim Richmond will start on the front row with Jake Finch and Toni Briedinger behind them following the results of Friday’s ARCA qualifying session.

REDDICK, BELL WIN DUELS AS JOHNSON QUALIFIES FOR DAYTONA 500

First time ARCA 200 drivers Marco Andretti and Shane Van Gisbergen qualified 26th and 35th despite strong showings in practice on Thursday.

ARCA qualifies in groups so drafting plays a role, unlike the single-car qualifying used in the NASCAR Cup Series.

The start time shift is the second time this season NASCAR has decided to move a race a day early for rain.

It made the same decision for the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum two weeks ago.
