Persistent rain hitting the Daytona International Speedway has forced NASCAR to reschedule the Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 from Saturday evening until 11 a.m. ET on Monday.
The race was originally supposed to start at 5 p.m. ET.
Qualifying was held on Saturday afternoon during a break in the rain, with Richard Childress Racing teammates Jesse Love and Austin Hill sweeping the front row.
The Daytona 500 is still set to begin at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, but the forecast calls for rain throughout the day and into Monday.
REPORT SAYS HONDA NASCAR DISCUSSIONS ARE ‘HEATING UP’
NASCAR hasn’t yet discussed the possibility of both events taking place on Tuesday.
Nick Sanchez won the Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday night in an overtime finish as much of the field was caught up in a major wreck on the last lap.
The ARCA 200 came to a similar conclusion with Gus Dean taking the victory in front of a race-ending accident.
