“This time we’re bringing the storm with an F-150 Lightning EV Demonstrator,” the post said. The accompanying image shows the truck under a sheet that leaves more questions that answers, as what appears to be a double bubble roof and a large wraparound rear wing similar to the Supervan’s are showing through the silhouette.
The post didn’t indicate when the vehicle will be revealed, but this year’s Pikes Peak event is scheduled for June 21-24.
It won’t be Ford Performance’s first F-150 Lightning build.
Ford Performance driver and collaborator Vaughn Gittin Jr. turned one into the Switchgear, which uses the stock 580 hp drivetrain, but features a custom suspension that gives it F-150 Raptor-like off-road capability and can be lowered to turn it into a street performance truck.
