It’s pretty, even if it’s not pink.
A 1969 Cadillac Eldorado originally owned by Elvis Presley was sold at the Mecum Auctions event in Glendale, Ariz., on Friday, March 8, for $253,000.
The Sable Black two-door was owned by Presley from 1969 until 1973, when he sold it to his personal mechanic.
The car had 46,116 miles on the odometer when it crossed the auction block and still has its original paint and interior, although its vinyl landau top has been replaced.
WHY DIDN’T YOU BUY JOE BIDEN’S CADILLAC ATS-V FOR $77,776?
The 18.5-foot car is powered by a 375 hp 472 cubic-inch V8 that drives the front wheels through an automatic transmission that was replaced in 1981.
Paperwork included with the lot shows that Elvis paid a total of $8,550 to purchase the car.
According to the Hagerty valuation guide, a similar car without the celebrity connection is worth roughly $18,000 to $36,000, so it would appear that the King’s still got it.
