Cadillac, Lexus and Mercedes-AMG Take Class Pole Positions For 12 Hours Of Sebring

Pipo Derani’s drive for five is off to a perfect start.

The four-time winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring qualified the Whelen Cadillac Racing V-Series.R on the GTP class pole for the 2024 race.

He’ll share the car with Jack Aitken and Tom Blomqvist for the race, which starts at 9:40 a.m. on Saturday.

The Cadillac Racing V-Series.R of Renger van der Zande, Sebastian Bourdais and Scott Dixon will start second in the class ahead of the Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Acura ARX-06 of Jordan Taylor, Louis Deletraz and Colton Herta.

The No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 of Jack Hawksworth, and Ben Barnicoat and Kyle Kirkwood will start first in the GTD Pro class, followed by the No. 23 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO and No. 77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R known as Rexy thanks to its dinosaur-themed livery.

GTD will be led by the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, No. 47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 and No. 7 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3.

The three fastest qualifiers in the spec LMP2 class were the AO Racing #99 car dragon-themed car nicknamed Spike and the United Autosports USA #22 and #2 cars.
