There’s a new way to give your pony car more kick.
Ford has officially released a new supercharger package for the V8 Mustang that it announced at the SEMA show last year.
The $9,995 Ford Performance kit is compatible with the Mustang GT and Mustang Dark Horse models and cranks their 5.0-liter V8s up to 800 hp or 810 hp when equipped with the active valve performance exhaust. Torque is listed at 615 lb-ft for both setups. That’s up from 500 hp in the Dark Horse.
Based around a 3.0-liter Whipple twin-screw supercharger, the package includes a dual pass intercooler, a 92mm throttle body, colder spark plugs and the port fuel injectors that were used on the 2020-2022 Mustang Shelby GT500’s 5.2-liter V8.

It also comes with a Tomahawk calibration delivery tool with special Ford Performance calibration software.
Combined with a base Mustang GT that lists for $43,550, the total price before installation costs could be as low as $53,545, while the Mustang Dark Horse starts at $59,780 without the kit.
The supercharger is covered by a three-year/36,000-mile warranty if its installed by a Ford dealer or certified technician, but if you’re out of luck if you live in California because it is not certified for use there.
The kit makes the cars more powerful than the last one offered by Ford Performance, which pumped out 750 hp, as well as the Shelby GT500 that was rated at 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque.
